Robert (Bob) Hoog

After earning his BS/BA in Business & Finance at Avila College here in Kansas City, Bob began his insurance career in 1989. As an insurance agency owner and advisor Bob has been helping customers navigate the complexities of both personal and business insurance for almost thirty years! In February 2018 Bob decided to merge Hoog & Associates Agency Inc. with the Mid-America family in order to bring more resources to his customers. The merger has also freed up Bob to spend more time doing what he loves most, meeting with and helping clients. Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his clients in all aspects of personal, business, life and retirement insurance. Throughout his career Bob has earned various company and industry awards and has been recognized on many occasions for outstanding customer service and productivity. He also served on the Regional and National Agents Advisory Council for Nationwide Insurance. Bob is married to Sherry who teaches high school English at Lees Summit North, and together they have 6 children. Bob is an avid tennis player, a huge dog lover and loves the outdoors.

LeaAnn began her insurance career in 1988 working for Farmers Insurance Group. When the agent she worked with became a District Manager she took on the role of training all new recruits on all things insurance. When the District Manager she worked with retired she began a new phase of her insurance career in commercial (business) insurance. LeaAnn has worked in the Lee’s Summit office for several years. She has worked closely with Bob Hoog in her role as a commercial support team member providing superb customer service to those clients served out of the Lee’s Summit office. After the merger of Bob’s agency with Mid America Specialty Markets she became a valuable member of our commercial lines team. Her main goal is to respond to all her client’s inquiries and resolve any issues they may have. She has a great working rapport with each of them and they know they can count on her to provide the excellent service they deserve. “That’s what our clients want…us to be here when they call and be ready to help!” She enjoys spending her spare time with her kids, playing Pickle Ball and hanging out at the lake with family.

Deanna has 38 years of customer service experience with 15 of those being in property and casualty insurance. She began her insurance career in 1980 working as a CSR for an independent insurance agency in Washington. They made the move to Missouri in 1988 and after 23 years of working in healthcare found her way back into the insurance industry when in 2011 she joined the Bob Hoog Agency which merged and is now Mid America Specialty Markets. Customer service is very important to Deanna! She strives to provide our personal lines clients with the same great service she would expect for herself. Deanna handles all aspects of personal lines insurance including quoting and writing or placing new policies, performing policy reviews with customers making policy changes, handling customer billing and assisting with other client policy needs.

Clare began her insurance career in 2010 in St. Louis, MO for a large national carrier as a Lead Sales Representative. Clare enjoyed immediate success and fell in love with the role she was playing in helping clients and educating them through the insurance buying process. Clare strives on providing stellar customer service and places a high importance on the personal relationship with each client. Clare is a Graduate of Missouri State University with a double major in Hospitality Management and Psychology.

Nick is a licensed insurance advisor at Mid-America Specialty Markets. Nick has served in several roles, including customer service and administration. Nick played competitive baseball and basketball growing up, and enjoys hobbies such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, music, automotive interests, and gaming. Nick is passionate about helping others, by providing high-quality service and advice, on a wide range of insurance products.

Matt is the founding member of our agency. He graduated from the University of Missouri with his BS/BA in Business Administration. He holds his property and casualty license in 13 states. Matt began his insurance career in 1998 working in the claims department with Safeco Insurance Company. In 2005 an opportunity became available to become one of the first exclusive agents for Nationwide Insurance in the entire state of Missouri. At this point he opened the Nationwide office in O’Fallon and began marketing business, personal, life and retirement planning insurance products throughout the state of Missouri. His interest and desire to expand our independent agency operation led to his acquisition of several smaller agencies throughout Missouri. In his role as agency principal (owner) of Mid America Specialty Markets he is tasked with the responsibilities of strategic agency planning, establishing agency growth targets, working with our commercial and personal insurance departments on expansion plans and overseeing general agency operations from a upper management level. His knowledge of agency operations and insurance carrier relations is exceptional. You’ll find as an active independent insurance agency principal, with plans for continued growth and expansion, Matt places a great emphasis on agency merger and acquisitions. He actively seeks out and interviews insurance agencies and agents, throughout the state, who are interested in becoming a part of our Mid America team. He is a member of a various local chamber of commerce organizations.

Sampson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and began his career as an insurance agent in November of 2023. He specializes in home, auto, life, business, and farm insurance throughout Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. Sampson and his wife Ashley started this journey as a producer and CSR team with the goal of pursuing an insurance career and growing in this field together. They are passionate about providing the best service, products, and relationships with their clients and community. Kenny began his insurance career in 2013 after transitioning from retail management. After starting in the life insurance industry, he joined Estal Insurance and Financial Services in early 2014 as a producer. Following the merger with Mid America Specialty Markets, Kenny transitioned into commercial insurance leadership, where he continues to play an important role in the agency’s growth and success. Based out of the Springfield office, Kenny oversees the agency’s commercial lines operations, working closely with insurance carriers to develop competitive coverage solutions and evaluate risks for businesses across a variety of industries. He leads the commercial quoting process, supports the commercial lines team, and focuses on building strong carrier relationships, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to clients. As a member of the agency’s management team, Kenny also contributes to strategic initiatives and business development efforts that support the agency’s continued growth. With more than a decade of experience in the insurance industry, he brings a practical understanding of commercial insurance and a commitment to helping businesses find solutions that protect what they’ve worked hard to build.

Stephanie joined Estal Insurance and Financial Services in 2013 as an Insurance Producer (agent). After the merger of Mid America Specialty Markets with Estal Insurance and Financial Services, Stephanie took on the role of Personal Lines Account Manager working out of our Springfield Missouri Office. Stephanie is responsible for overseeing our entire agency personal lines producing and servicing staff! She works closely with our personal lines insurance company partners to make new personal insurance product lines available to our clients. She provides training on our personal lines products to all agency producers and servicing staff. She works with our personal lines staff to provide renewal review services to our existing clients to help assure they are receiving competitively priced policies for all their insurance needs. Stephanie is a valuable member of our agency management team where she assists with agency special projects, helps set agency goals and provides guidance for future agency growth. She is a member of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

Tony joined Mid America Specialty Markets in 2017 after the merge with Brothers & Associates, LLC where he spent 9 years as an insurance agent and continues in the same role, after a 7 year career in the Mortgage business, essentially going from helping people realize their dream of homeownership t protecting that dream from devastation. Tony is a specialist in Home, Rental Property, Auto, Motorcycle, RV, Boat and Trip Insurance. He also works in the commercial arena where he can meet all of your business coverage needs including General Liability, Business Property, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto and Bonds. Tony currently holds his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation which is a comprehensive education program available for commercial insurance. While Tony enjoys all aspects of the insurance business, he knows that it might not be most people’s favorite thing to talk about, so he uses his dry wit to have a little fun while explaining coverage. He enjoys building a relationship with his clients so that he may have the opportunity to truly learn how to meet their customized insurance needs. He is an active Shriner, enjoys golf, bowling and watching most all sports and rooting on his KC Chiefs, KC Royals and Mizzou Tigers!
