Website storage
Cookie and Browser Storage Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains cookies and similar browser technologies used by the Mid-America Specialty Markets website. Read it with our Website Privacy Statement.
What cookies and browser storage do
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Local storage is another browser mechanism that can preserve information between visits. These technologies can support website functions, remember choices and, when enabled, measure website use.
A cookie's expiration and a provider's server-side retention are different. Clearing browser information does not necessarily delete records already maintained by the agency or a service provider.
Consent preferences
We use local storage under masm.cookie-preferences to remember your optional Statistics choice, the preference version and its expiration. Preferences are valid for 180 days; after expiration or a material change requiring a new choice, we may ask again. This preference record is separate from quote request identifiers and does not contain your form entries.
Quote request storage
We use browser storage to remember a request identifier and a secure status-check credential. This helps you check whether your quote request was received and avoid duplicate submissions. It does not store your form answers or uploaded documents.
This information stays in your browser until you clear it or replace it by starting a new request when that option is available. Clearing it may prevent you from checking a pending request's status. If delivery is uncertain, contact the agency before submitting another copy.
Security and third-party features
Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect forms and attachment admission from automated abuse. The storage and technical processing used by security and embedded services depend on their configuration and your browser. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Elfsight review widgets, Facebook content and other embedded features may connect to their providers and use cookies or similar technologies when loaded. Their providers may receive technical information, including your IP address and browser characteristics. These features operate separately from Google Analytics; rejecting Statistics does not necessarily prevent every third-party connection. Provider privacy notices explain their practices.
Statistics — Google Analytics 4
If you allow Statistics in Cookie Settings, Google Analytics 4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish browser visits and maintain session information. We currently use this information to measure public page visits and navigation. Depending on the features enabled, analytics may also measure engagement and selected interactions, including scrolling, contact-link clicks and form starts or accepted submissions. Those additional interaction events are not currently enabled. If enabled, they use categories and outcomes rather than customer-entered fields or document contents. Browser identifiers mean this information is not completely anonymous.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Default expiration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes users through a browser identifier. | 2 years, subject to configured settings and browser limits. |
_ga_<container-id> | Maintains session state for the GA4 property. | 2 years, subject to configured settings and browser limits. |
These are Google's standard GA4 cookie names and defaults. Configured settings and browser restrictions may shorten their duration. See Google's GA4 cookie documentation and Google's Privacy Policy.
Managing choices
You can accept optional technologies, reject them, or choose categories in Cookie Settings. Statistics is off until you allow it. You can reopen Cookie Settings from the footer and change your choice at any time. Withdrawing permission stops future optional analytics collection; it does not retract data previously sent. Functional and security features needed for the requested service remain available.
You can also delete or restrict cookies and local storage through browser settings. Restrictions may affect request-status access or other website functions. For privacy questions, contact agencymail@midaminsurance.com or call 888-978-3696.
